| According to a report from knoxnews.com, Andrew Gallant has re-signed with the Knoxville Ice Bears for the upcoming 2010-11 campaign. The former OCN Blizzard goaltender will return for his third season with the SPHL club. Last season in 35 appearances with the Ice Bears, Gallant put up a 19-11-2 record with a 3.18 goals against average, a .903 save percentage, and 1 shutout. In 67 career regular season games with Knoxville, he has gone 39-18-6 with 2 shutouts, a 2.91 average, and a .914 save%. Gallant has also appeared in 11 playoff contests with the Bears recording a 5-5 record, a 3.37 average, and .908 save%.
Prior to joining the Ice Bears, Gallant spent the 2007-08 season between Arizona of the CHL(14-6-2, 1 shutout, 3.24, .896) and Elmira of the ECHL(0-1). Gallant also spent time with AHL Hartford after the conclusion of his collegiate career in 2006-07.
For 4 seasons(03-04 - 06-07) Gallant suited up for NCAA division three Manhattanville. During his time with the Valiants, Gallant set all time school goaltending records in minutes(3865:39), wins(50), saves(1620), save%(.923), and shutouts(6). Gallant is tied for second all-time in goals against average with former Flin Flon Bomber Paul Reimer(2.11). Former Blizzard goaltender PO Lemieux holds the school record with a 2.06 average. Gallant's best season came as a senior in 06-07 when he set school single season records in minutes(1509), wins(19), saves(617), save%(.928), and shutouts(tied with Lemieux at 4). In 06-07, Gallant helped the Valiants to the ECAC West Championship and in doing so he was named Division Three Player of the Year.
Gallant was acquired by OCN from his hometown Summerside Western Capitals prior to the 02-03 season. His record in OCN consisted of a 31-5 record, 2.62 average, .917 save%, and 4 shutouts in 37 regular season games. During OCN's run to the 2003 MJHL Championship he recorded an 8-1 record, 3.05 average, and .881 save%. During the Anavet Cup defeat to the Humboldt Broncos, Gallant put up an 0-2 record, 4.67 goals against average, and an .836 save percentage in 4 contests. |

| Defenseman Dave Brown has signed with the Central Hockey Leagues Colorado Eagles for the upcoming season. The 2010-11 campaign will be Browns first as a pro after spending the past five seasons with the University of Manitoba. Prior to his collegiate career, Brown played the 2004-05 season with the OCN Blizzard. During his 135 games with the Bisons, Brown collected 8 goals, 13 assists, 21 points, and 236 penalty minutes. He received the Mike Ridley Award three separate times for excelling both on the ice and in the classroom according to an article on the Bisons website. During his time in OCN, Brown put up 4 goals, 13 assists, 17 points, and 84 penalty minutes in 61 games while playing on the teams top defensive pairing with Ryan Constant. Prior to his time in OCN, Brown spent the 03-04 season with the Fernie Ghostriders of the North American Hockey League(NAHL) where he put up 4 goals and 9 points in 42 games. Brown followed Barry Wolff to OCN after the Fernie Ghostriders left the NAHL for the junior B ranks following the 03-04 season. At the beginning of the 04-05 season Brown was joined in OCN by fellow Ghostrider teammates Chad Kirkland, Kevin Schneider, and Dan Selmser. |

Former OCN Blizzard tough guy Steve MacIntyre has signed a one year deal worth $500 000 with the Edmonton Oilers for the upcoming 2010-2011 NHL season. This will be Macintyre's second stint with the Oilers as he spent the entire 2008-09 season with the club. His first stop in Edmonton saw him score 2 goals with 40 penalty minutes in 22 games. His goal on April 10th against Calgary stood up as the game winner in a 5-1 victory. During this past 09/10 season, Macintyre started the campaign by recording 7 penalty minutes in 4 games with Edmonton before being claimed off waivers by Florida where he put up 1 assist with 17 minutes in penalties during 18 contests. He also played 34 games with Florida's AHL affiliate in Rochester putting up 2 assists and 86 penalty minutes. Macintyre won the 00-01 MJHL Championship with OCN scoring 3 goals and 11 assists for 14 points along with 150 penalty minutes in 37 regular season games. He added 2 goals, 3 points, and 11 penalty minutes in 11 playoff games as well as appearing in 4 Anavet Cup contests. Before his time in OCN he played 123 WHL games notching 4 points and 355 penalty minutes with Saskatoon, Red Deer, and Prince Albert. In his minor league career Macintyre recorded 36 points and 1766 penalty minutes in 421 games with stops in the UHL(Muskegon and Quad City), QSPHL(St Jean), ECHL(Charlotte), WHA 2(Jacksonville), and AHL(Hartford, Providence, and Rochester). In playoff play he added 7 points and 123 penalty minutes in 50 games while helping Muskegon(02) and Jacksonville(04) to championships. His NHL totals accumulate to 44 games, 3 points, and 64 penalty minutes. |
