The OCN Blizzard were very pleased when former player Scotty Sack agreed to join the scouting staff as the eastern Canada scout.

Scotty played for the OCN Blizzard during the 2005/2006 season. At the end of that season he was traded back to the Yarmouth Mainers where he played 2 seasons, ended his career with a championship. At the end his junior career, Scott traveled to Germany but returned to his home province of Nova Scotia to play senior hockey.

Blizzard Fans will remember Scotty as a tremendous player who played with a lot of passion and grit. Since finishing his junior hockey career, he has been able to transfer his hockey knowledge to coaching and has develop a keen eye when it comes to identifying talent.

“It’s always good when you can add knowledgeable respected young men and talented hockey guys to your staff. In his role as Eastern Canada Scout, Scott will get a chance to see a lot of good midget teams and players which will be very beneficial for us,” said Head Coach/GM Smith.

“I’m very excited to be a part of OCN Blizzard. They were a big part of my life on and off the ice and I look forward to being a part of the team,” said Sack.

While not in the hockey rinks volunteering as a coach or working with young aboriginal hockey players at the national championships, he works as a lobster fisherman. Scott lives with his longtime girlfriend Saralynne in Indian Brook, NS.

Saralynne works as the Aboriginal Sports Coordinator for New Brunswick. Scotty just returned from the Hit the Ice hockey show where he was scouting and meeting with players in an effort to improve our hockey club this season and seasons to come.

Our 20th Season is approaching fast and there are a number of sponsorship opportunities still available with a chance to showcase your business in a very prominent way while helping support our local Junior A hockey club.
