OCN Blizzard-3 @ Virden Oil Capitals-2 (Final-SO)

Tuesday night OCN made the trip down to Virden for their first road game of the season. The first period saw a back and forth game with each team generating scoring chances but would solve nothing.  In the first period The Blizzard outshot the Oil Capitals 15-11.

In the second period, Virden would get on the board first as Ben Dalke would put one past Blizzard goalie Emilien Boily at 2:26 on the power play. OCN would answer at 13:47 as Lantz Hiebert would bang home a rebound tie the game at 1. Assists went to Adam Heinemann and Anthony Keeper Jr. Virden would add one more, coming at 14:33 taking back the lead, 2-1 after 40. Shots 32-26 OCN.

The third period OCN would poor on the pressure. Thanks to a late Virden penalty and with the net empty, OCN would score 6 on 4. Brady keeper at 18:29 with a big blast from the point! Assists to Daylon Campbell and Jeremy Dumont. Heading to OT tied 2-2, OCN leading in shots 44-35.

Overtime would solve nothing and off to a shootout we went. Shots now 46-37 OCN. Brady Keeper would score the only shootout goal. Emilien Boily would stop all 3 shooters he faced and OCN would pick up a huge come from behind win and two points. The OCN Blizzard moved to 5-0-1.

OCN Blizzard-2 @ Portage Terriers-5

The next night OCN headed a little further East on the Trans Canada highway to meet with the Portage Terriers. The Terriers would ultimately win the game 5-2 handing the Blizzard their first regulation loss of the season.

First period Portage wasted no time, they would score just 2:30 into the game to take an early lead. OCN would answer back to tie the game 1-1. Brady Valiquette scored his first goal of the season on a great drop pass from Brady Keeper at 16:47. Right before the period came to a close Portage would regain their lead 2-1 and not look back.

The second period was a tough one for the Blizzard boys. Portage would score just 30 seconds apart late in the frame and take a 4-1 lead into the second intermission.

Third period Portage played great defensive hockey and shut the door on OCN. George King would however, score his first MJHL goal with the assist going to Taran Lacquette. Portage would add one more to take a 5-2 final over the Blizzard.
