For OCN and Winkler, tonight will be their first meeting of the 2016-17 season. It was last year in the first round of the playoffs that the Winkler Flyers knocked out OCN in just 5 games.

This year Winkler is off to another great start winning 8 of their first 11 games putting themselves near the top of the MJHL standings once again. Winkler is led up front by familiar faces in returning forwards Scott Gall and Coltyn Bates.

Newcomer Gino Lucia has been a nice addition to round out their top 3 scorers to this point. It’s been a shuffle between the pipes, with trades they’ve added new tenders in Josh Williams, Cole Weaver and Jakob Severson.

The OCN Blizzard are off to one the best starts in franchise history with a 7-1-1 mark through 9 games. The Blizzard have been great at home going 6-0-1 but just a smaller sample size on the road with a 1-1 mark.

Goaltending has been outstanding for OCN and overall defensive play in general. In 9 games the Blizzard have allowed just 20 goals against. The Blizzard have been lead offensively by Brady Keeper(4g, 5a), Brayden Dale(4g, 2a), Jeremy Dumont(1g, 5a) and Anthony Keeper(0g, 6a).
