The OCN Blizzard head south tonight to visit their closest rival for the second straight game. The OCN Blizzard will travel to Swan Valley to face the Stampeders after defeating the Stamps 5-4 in OT on Saturday night.  (Read more...)

The two teams have met twice already and the season series couldn’t be any tighter.  OCN won both games in OT as the teams prove to play each other tight for the second straight season.

The first meeting was October 26th as Swan Valley travelled to OCN. The Blizzard came out early and got goals from Brayden Dale and Jeremy Dumont to take an early lead. Swan would respond to cut the lead 2-1. OCN would add a late period goal from Brady Keeper to take a 3-1 lead into the first intermission. In the second, Swan would get the only goal cutting into the Blizzard lead, making it 3-2 OCN after 40 minutes. The third period would see the Blizzard regain a 2 goal advantage as Jeremy Dumont would get his second of the night. Swan Valley wouldn’t go away though as 2 goals late in the period tied it at 4 sending the contest to OT. Taran Lacquette would bang home a puck in the crease to give the Blizzard the 5-4 OT win.

The most recent meeting between the teams was also the most recent game for both teams. Saturday November 12th OCN would make the trek to Swan Valley. In the first period the Stampeders would get on the board first. OCN would respond with two Brady Keeper goals to give OCN a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes. The second period is where the game would go back and forth. The teams would exchange goals as Swan would tie it 2-2. George King would then score to make it 3-2 Blizzard, but the Stamps would respond again tying it at 3 heading to the second intermission. In the third period the teams would exchange goals once again this time it was Swan Valley first. Followed by Jeremy Dumont knotting things 4-4 and off to OT. In the extra frame it was a great pass from Taran Lacquette to Maverick Rafter and he would make no mistake, popping the water bottle off giving OCN their 15th win of the season. The tight contest would see three lead changes, and was tied at 4 separate occasions.
