Brady Keeper got the Blizzard off on the right foot notching the first goal of the game at the midway mark of the first period. The Blizzard would roll from there as the Flyers couldn’t get within two goals throughout the night.
Tonight the Blizzard continue their trek around Southern Manitoba as they visit the Blues in Winnipeg. OCN has now won 11 of their last 12 games and are currently riding a 4 game win streak. The recent surge by OCN now has them in a tight race with the Selkirk Steelers and Winkler Flyers for 2nd and 3rd in the MJHL standings. OCN sits just two points back of both teams and have 2 games at hand over Selkirk.

For the Blues and Blizzard, the home team has won all 5 previous meetings this season, which obviously bodes well for Winnipeg tonight. The Blizzard won one goal games over Winnipeg at the GLMC but it’s been a different story in Winnipeg. The Blizzard dropped a tough contest 5-2 in the first meeting and lost a high scoring affair 7-5 in the next. In the 5 meetings Winnipeg has scored a total of 19 goals while OCN has scored just 17.
OCN was lead offensively last night by the line of George King, Tristan Elie and Jeremy Dumont. The three combined for 9 points and have been the top offensive line for OCN since mid-January.
Jeremy Dumont was in on 4 of 5 OCN goals as he had 4 assists. George King scored his team leading 34th of the season and added two assists. Elie pitched in with 2 assists and leads the team with a 1.6 ppg mark since joining the Blizzard.
