Blizzard Look For Sweep of the Blues in Game 4

The OCN Blizzard will look for a sweep tonight in game 4 of their first round, MJHL Quarter Final series against the Winnipeg Blues. The Blizzard can close out their best of 7 series tonight following a 1-0 victory in Game 3 Tuesday.

The game had a great back and forth feel to it as neither team could find the back of the net until the third period. Goaltenders Brett Epp and Jacob Gnidziejko were outstanding between the pipes as the contest turned into a great goaltender battle.

It took until midway through the final frame when Victor Knaub and the OCN Blizzard finally broke through. Knaub would score his team leading 3rd of the post season on a great cross ice feed from Jordan Valentino. Taylor Derynck would pick up the second assist on the OCN tally.

Following the goal, OCN would play great shutdown hockey, led by Brett Epp as they would keep the Blues goalless, winning the game 1-0 and taking a commanding 3-0 series lead. Epp has been outstanding in the series for OCN and it reflects in his numbers. He’s 3-0 with a 1.33 GAA and a .948 save percentage.
