Blizzard Net 2nd Win of 2018

The OCN Blizzard earned their second win of 2018 last night at the GLMC, as they defeated the rival Dauphin Kings by a score of 5-2.

Mark Liwiski scored the opened the scoring, notching his 5th goal of the year, and had both Jacob Berry and Anthony Keeper adding an assist, 13:25 in to the first period.  Dauphin would answer back early in the 2nd period, as Thomas Hansell would score at 2:41 in the 2nd, to even up the game at 1-1.

With 2:03 to go in the 2nd, Riley Shamray would break the tie on an OCN powerplay, netting his 10th goal of the year, with assists from Tavis Roch and Trygve Many Guns.  Lantz Heibert would score his 10th of the year, with another assist going to Berry, adding what would eventually be the game winning goal, one minute later, and OCN closed out the second period with a 3-1 lead.

One minute in to the 3rd, Liwiski scored his second goal of the night with help from George King & Keeper adding a second assist, increasing OCN’s lead to 4-1.  At 12:43 in to the 3rd, Dauphins Wilson Northey would add a goal to bring the Kings within 2, but any hopes of the Kings tying the game came to an end at 18:09 of the 3rd, as Jesse Roach would score his 7th goal of the year on the Kings empty net.

Dorian Laganiere improved his record to 8-4-1-0, stopping 30 of 32 shots.

With the win, the OCN Blizzard have improved to 24-14-5-0 on the season and sit in 5th place in the MJHL.
