Blizzard Seek Stranglehold of MJHL Finals

The OCN Blizzard have an opportunity this evening to take a stranglehold on the MJHL Finals. The Blizzard lead the best of 7 series with the Portage Terriers 2-0, as the scene shifts to Portage for games 3 and 4. With a win tonight the Blizzard would hold a 3-0 lead in the Finals.  (Read more…)

For the Portage Terriers, they have been led all season by Jeremey Leipsic, Chase Brakel and James McIsaac. In two finals games the three have combined for 7 points, pulling their weight. The Terriers will need input from the rest of their forwards and back end if they’re going to pull the series within one game.

Both games this week from Portage can be heard live on 102.9 CJAR and thepasonline.com.  Jaret Schneider will have the call with pre-game show beginning at 7:15pm.  Puck drops at 7:30pm.

Statistically the first two games of the MJHL Finals have been the two most lopsided games the OCN Blizzard have played this playoffs. Being it 8-3 and 6-0, OCN outscored the Terriers by a 14-3 margin.

The first two games were of course played in OCN as the home crowd helped to propel the Blizzard into an early lead in the series. 

Game 3 goes tonight, while Game 4 will be held tomorrow.

The OCN Blizzard have been led in the series by Tristan Elie, Daylon Campbell and Brett Epp. Elie has outscored everyone posting 5 goals and 3 assists for 8 points in 2 finals games.

Daylon Campbell has pitched in with 3 goals and 2 assist for 5 points. Brett Epp picked up his 4th shutout of the playoffs and now sports a 10-1 record, with a 1.53 GAA and a .951 save percentage.
