Gabby Umpherville, 2018 Trappers Festival Pageant

The OCN Blizzard are very proud to announce that we will be sponsoring Gabby Umpherville in the 2018 Northern Manitoba Trappers Festival Fur Queen Pageant.

She is currently 17 years old, turning 18 on December 30th
Gabby is one of the youngest contestants competing in this years Fur Queen Pageant.

Gabby has recently graduated from Margaret Barbour Collegiate Institute in The Pas, and now studying at University College of the North in the Bachelors of Arts, with Nursing Intent 4 year program.

Gabby is also an athlete who recently competed in the North American Indigenous Games in Toronto this past July and was the sole local athlete representing OCN/The Pas with Team Manitoba for Track and Field.

In August of last year she competed and was crowned Miss OID Princess 2016.   She was honoured to have been sponsored by Denis Watier of Watier Jewellers.

“I am excited to be participating in the 2018 Trapper’s Festival as one of the contestants in the Fur Queen Pageant.   I am so honoured to have  the support of the Blizzard, and especially their confidence in me.

Competing in the Fur Queen pageant has always intrigued me which made my decision to run much more easier.  I have enjoyed getting involved in our communities and work towards on being a positive role model.

I hope to inspire others to run for Fur Queen as it opens many doors to new opportunities in their future.”
