OCN Blizzard management are pleased to announce the hiring of new coaching staff for 2019-2020
Ryan Wood- Associate Head Coach and Assistant General Manager
Ryan who is from Winnipeg Manitoba and has aboriginal roots with Peguis First Nations comes to the Blizzard after 2 seasons as Head Coach and GM of the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League where he amassed a record of 58-37-10-7 and made playoffs in both seasons, Ryan also was selected to coach team NOJHL East in the 2018-2019 Eastern Canada Cup. Over the past 7 season of of coaching Jr A Hockey Ryan has been able to help move 31 players to the NCAA and 15 direct to European Professional Leagues.
Chris Perchaluk – Associate Head Coach
Chris who is born and raised in the Tri-County community with a passion for hockey and physical fitness. Chris who played Junior A Hockey in the SJHL with the Melfort Mustangs for 2 Seasons and is no stranger to the Blizzard as he was also a member of this team. Chris has been a local staple as a coach with the Pas Huskies Minor Hockey program where he has won multiple provincial championships and has been named TPMHA Coach of the Year.
Nic Rusak- Assistant Coach
Nick who is a resident of Cranberry Portage brings great experience being a scout with OCN , also with past coaching experience with Team North for the Manitoba Winter Games as well being assistant coach with the Norman Wolves Bantam AAA from 2017-2019.
