OCN acquire trio of prospects from Portage

The OCN Blizzard have moved the CJHL playing rights of 1999 goaltender Noah Giesbrecht to the Portage Terriers for a package of top prospects.

Joining the Blizzard organization are Brett Tataryn, Lucas Brenton, and Kieran Cooke.

Brett Tataryn, who hails from Arglye, Manitoba was taken in the 2018 first round, ninth overall. Tataryn currently is playing at the Pilot Mound Hockey Academy, the 6’1 190 lbs power forward currently has 18 goals, 18 assist in 38 games this season for the Buffaloes.

Taken in the second round, 20th overall, Kieran Cooke is a 6’2 195 lbs smooth skating defenceman and should be a great asset to have on the future Blizzard back-end. The Winnipeg native currently five goals and 10 assists in 31 games with the RINK Hockey Academy Midget Prep team.

Lucas Brenton from East St. Paul, Manitoba was the 31st overall pick of the 2018 MJHL Draft and a draftee of the Moose Jaw Warriors. A current member of the Winnipeg Thrashers U18 AAA stands 6’3 190 lbs. He currently has seven goals and seven assists in 22 games this season with the Thrashers.

The Blizzard are excited to welcome Brett, Kieran and Lucas to our organization! We wish Noah the best of luck with his opportunity to win a national Jr. A championship.
