The OCN Blizzard Jr. A Hockey Club is now accepting applications for the position of Trainer/Equipment Manager for the 2008/2009 season.  A strong background and experience in first aid, sport injury and organizational skills are required.  Salary will be negotiable based on education and experience.

CJAHL Unveils The New Name And Brand Of The Canadian Junior Hockey League
The Canadian Junior Hockey League has launching a new look and messaging initiative on May 2nd, 2008. The new logo of the Canadian Junior Hockey League is the new emblem for the organization, and is intended to unite the ten Leagues across Canada under one symbol. It will provide a consistent tone and message within each league, clearly defining our position within Junior “A” hockey, strategically and correctly in the minds of players, other hockey leagues, fans and the general public.

Strandberg Not Returning For 2008-09 Season
The OCN Blizzard Jr. A Hockey Club have announced that marketing Director/Business Manager Leonard Strandberg will not be returning to the Organization for the 2008-2009 season.  Leonard’s commitment to the crest was very much appreciated and the Organization and staff wishes him all the best in the future.

Blizzard End Season With Win Over Stamps
The OCN Blizzard may have missed the MJHL Post Season for the second straight year but they ended the 2007-08 season on a good note with a 4-2 win over the Swan Valley Stampeders. Dale Warkentin, Matthew Watson, Edward Lathlin, and Marcel Fontaine scored the goals for the Blizzard. Pierre-Olivier Lemieux allowed 1 goal on 13 shots while Ryan Delorme picked up his first MJHL win stopping 15 of 16 shots.

Stamps Blow Away Blizzard
A 3-0 first period lead would be all the Swan Valley Stampeders would need as they defeated the OCN Blizzard 7-1. Justin Watters scored the only Blizzard goal while Pierre-Olivier Lemieux allowed 7 goals on 39 shots before being replaced by Brett Haukaas who stopped all 4 shots that he faced.

Blizzard Blow Away Blades
Jordan Sinclair scored a pair of goals as the OCN Blizzard defeated the Beausejour Blades 7-2. Edward Lathlin, Korbin Ducharme, Jason Bernatchez, Gavin Salomons, and Matthew Watson scored the other goals for the Blizzard while Pierre-Olivier Lemieux stopped 21 of 23 shots.

Wolverines Defeat Blizzard
The OCN Blizzard opened the scoring but three second period goals proved to be the difference as they were defeated by the Waywayseecappo Wolveriens 5-2. Gavin Salomons and Jason Bernatchez scored the goals for the Blizzard while Pierre-Olivier Lemieux allowed 5 goals on 40 shots.

For the second straight year in a row the OCN Blizzard will miss the post season as they were defeated by the Waywayseecappo Wolverines 8-3. Zeanan Buternowski, Jason Bernatchez, and Kyle Friesen scored the goals for the Blizzard while ierre-Olivier Lemieux allowed 8 goals on 44 shots.

Blizzard Finally Cure Woes Against Wolverines
The OCN Blizzard were finally able to solve the Waywayseecappo Wolverines as they defeated them 5-3 at a rare appearance at the Roy H. Johnston Arena. Zeanan Buternowski and Marcel Fontaine scored a pair of goals for the Blizzard while Jordan Sinclair picked up the other Blizzard goal. Pierre-Olivier Lemieux stopped 35 of 38 shots for the win.

Mitch Olson scored a hat-trick as the OCN Blizzard defeated the Swan Valley Stampeders 8-5. Dan Lind, Charles Lachance, Gavin Salomons, Matthew Watson, and Garrett Brook scored the remaining Blizzard goals while Pierre-Olivier Lemieux stopped 38 shots for the win.

Buternowski Wins Player Of The Week

The OCN Blizzard are pround to announce that the Manitoba Junior Hockey League Old Dutch Player of the Week is forward Zeanan Buternowski.

Buternowski, 18, scored four goals and two assists for six points in two games. The Brandon product helped the Blizzard upset the first-place Portage Terriers 9-4 on Saturday night by scoring a hat-trick.

In 52 games this season, Buternowski has scored 24 goals and 32 assists for 56 points to lead OCN in scoring.

Blizzard Blow Away Terriers
Zeanan Buternowski scored a hat trick while Kent Sauter, and Dale Warkentin all had a pair of goals as the OCN Blizzard defeated the Portage Terriers 9-4. Charles LaChance and Mitch Olson scored the other Blizzard goals while Pierre-Olivier Lemieux stopped 27 of 31 shots.

The OCN Blizzard gave up a 3-0 and a 6-5 lead with under a minute left as they were defeated 7-6 by the Waywayseecappo Wolverines in overtime. Jordan Sinclair and Charles LaChance scored a pair of goals for the Blizzard while Zeanan Buternowski and Jason Bernatchez scored the other Blizzard goals. Pierre-Olivier Lemieux allowed 7 goals on 35 shots.
